The city life was oh so boring. People watching had grown to be a chore rather than a pleasant pastime, and the rebellious witch was itching to get her plans together already! This millennia of peace, the time of ‘friendship’ between both witch and human- ugh, it was a bore and a snore. The chaos in the world had been simmering down since that dreadful day years ago when the beautiful moon turned black and the Demon God was trapped- and boy, that day has ruined everything. Witches aren’t even allowed to have fun with humans anymore, unless they want to go on Mabaa’s list. So, the only entertainment was the roaming Kishins.
And, let’s just say they aren’t very active in Death City.
Bored out of her ever living mind, Anubis sat upon her ‘throne’, watching the humans drift around in the bright sun. The Earth was warming, finally, and life was in bloom. Gross. Her throne, which was nothing by the rooftop of two story building, gave her support as the witch leaned back and stared into the sky. Naturally a curious being, the woman was knowledgeable in the concept of chaos. She supposed that’s why her parents named her what she was named. Anubis. If she remembered correctly, Anubis was an ancient Egyptian god! The God with a head of a jackal, and dealt with the afterlife and death. Delicious.
Reaching to her neck, Anubis clutched her personal Ankh. It was the only accessory she wore that pointed towards her witches garb- in fact, Anubis looked like a pretty average human today! A black tank top with black, baggy shorts. Pretty normal for a seemingly young adult human girl, right? The caramel witch rolled her head back towards the streets, watching the humans. They were a bit scarce, and none seemed off. Must be one hundred percent human. Bo-ring.
The sensation of an abnormal soul alerted Anubis. Letting go of her Ankh, the silver haired woman stood and glanced around her surroundings. Her yellow eyes darted towards where she felt the soul, and she quickly dashed from the rooftop to the ground- via a few hops and some magic words. She concealed her being, ready to strike this soul. It’s not human, so it may be a friend to her cause. Perha-ps.

Luis walked around aimlessly as if he were lost, which was true. He was dressed in black jeans and a khaki button up, sleeves rolled up. It was his first time in the area, the city, and he was looking for something to do. The city was booming in the afternoon sun. There were people all around Luis and he was beginning to get a little overwhelmed by the sheer amount of sensory stimulants that were flooding him. God I hate crowds... he thought to himself as he quickly darted into a nearby coffee shop. The scent ofcaffeine was somewhat soothing, that and there was like no one in the shop at this moment in time. Walking up to the counter he placed his order, "I'll have a white Chocolate butterscotch mocha, with whipped cream and caramel drizzel."he said and waited for his drink off to the side.

Acting like someone her own supposed age, Anubis followed her prey, stalking into the café with a peppy step. Her eyes were locked on Luis, and in a general ‘friendly’ tone, Anubis stretched her arms up. She exclaimed loudly, “Ma-n today is ho-t! Yo Joe—“ that wasn’t his name “—hit me up with some kinda ice coffee thing, a’ight?” Her speech pattern fit that of someone who had little worries- someone naïve and young. It bothered her on the inside, speaking with such informalities, but this way no one would see her true agenda. All the while, still stretching her arms over her head and leaning her back backwards, Anubis headed towards Luis.
The coffee guy, whatever his name really is, told her about how that’s not his name. He seemed haughty. Anubis waved it off, a grin on her face. With a ‘whatever’ and plop down on a seat near Luis, the woman glanced at him, as non-suspiciously as possible. “So.” She began, looking in front of her, her posture awful. Anubis sat on the stool with an arm on the counter and an elbow propped up. Her hand delicately lay under her chin, and her whole body remained slouched. “Hot day, yeah?” This was directed directly at Luis. Her eyes flashed towards him once again.

Luis looked towards Anubis and replied,"yeah. I'm not sure what was going through my head when I decided jeans would be a good idea." He laughed. The coffee guy handed Luis his mocha ando he walked over towards Anubis. "Mind if I join you?"he asked kindly. He wasn't sure what it was about this girl but she got his heart racing...he couldn't decide if that was good or bad. Had it not been for the caffeine and coffee in the air he'd probably have sniffed out the magic in her but alas he didnt.

Anubis nodded, obviously ve-ry interested in his remark. So interested, in fact, she instinctly rolled her eyes and looked at her nails. Who cares about jeans? Then again, she had to play it cool, but at least her lack-of-caring would help persuade others of her ‘normal girl’ routine. Nodding and looking up to his face, she put on a meek smile. “Sure, go ahead!” If it wasn’t for the fact that this boy wasn’t human, Anubis would have dropped his ass long ago. Not even bothering with him, just observed- but no. He has a corrupted soul, one of a Kishin’s egg, and that fact alone tempted her into looking into him.
He didn’t seem like a mobster, ganster, ect. He looked completely normal, so he was either just a genius serial killer or a hidden beast. Hopefully, he was serial killer. Those are always the most interesting. Most… dangerous. You can tame a beast, but you can’t tame a monster. In order to form her absolute opinion, though… well, she’d need to investigate! And investigate was what she’d do. “Are you from ‘round here?” Her head tilted towards Luis, putting half of her focus on his body movement, and half of it on obtaining her coffee.
One sip. Opinion? Disgusting. She scrunched up her face a little, very disappointed in her decision. Since when has she ever liked iced coffee? Now she’d have to suffer with this drink, and she couldn’t just be rude. Fuck. Ignore the taste, Anubis. Focus on the target.

Luis paused before answering Anubis' question almost as if he was preparing to lie to her. At the last minute he decided it wasn't worth it to lie as it was merely a simple question. "No...I actually just got in town today." He said and his eyes changed color with out him realizing. His left eye became a scarlet and his right became a deep dark blue. Being paranoid of those who once stalked him he quickly glanced in the nearby mirror checking behind him towards the entrance. One his return trip to Anubis he saw his eyes were changed and he was quick to put on his sunglasses, hoping the woman didn't notice. "I take it you're not a fan of iced coffee?" He said quickly as he saw her cringe at the taste of the coffee.

Anubis nodded slowly at his response, but really caring too much. If he wasn’t from here, then he might actually have something up with him. Wonderful. She glanced at Luis, noticing his eyes instantly. Her golden eyes narrowed, widened. Pupils contracting, Anubis put her drink down slowly. She was careful in her movements, looking forward once more and avoiding the suspicious air. A playful sigh relaxed from her lungs, a small smile forming on her lips. “Yeah, bad idea on my part.”
Spinning on her seat to face Luis, Anubis laid her face in her hand. “So, what’s your name. ‘m Annie.” Annie. What an adorably human name! What an obnoxiously human name. Anubis rathered not this dumb name, but saying ‘Anubis’ may raise questions. Not like the knowledge of her being a witch would harm her in any way, but if anyone assumed she was aligned with the Witches’ Rule, and, uh, no. That’d harm the witches more than intended, really. Maybe deeper on her agenda. “I’m not around here, either.”

I'm fairly certain She's lying to you. the beast growled deep within Luis' mind. Deep down luis had a feeling something was off about this girl but honestly he really didn't care. It'd been to long since he had actually talked with someone other than himself. "I can tell," he replied. Luis was well aware of the fact they were in a corner of the coffee shop away from any others. Leaning towards the woman, he took a leap of faith, "let's not start off on the wrong foot by lying to one another. I highly doubt anyone will hear us let alone be paying attention. You be honest with me and I'll be honest with you." He leaned back and looked at her patiently awaiting her reply.

Anubis looked visibly shocked. And she was. Her thoughts raced- did he know? He couldn’t have. Probably just a… just a coincidence. Anubis put on innocent, confused look, tilting her head and putting on a pouty lip. “Why would I lie to you?” ‘Annie’ perked a little, a smile returning to her face. “Oh! This must be a prank. Thank you, sir, but I’m not big on those.” A feigned giggle left her throat. Anubis didn’t like this guy. Not one bit. At least for the moment. “You kno~w you never answered my questi~on. What’s your name?”

"Luis," he paused and in hailed deeply through his nose taking in the woman's scent. "You're not human...I can smell that much, so please drop the illusion." He was starting to grow impatient. He began to tap his fingers on the table. For some reason he was beginning to feel angry. The beast... Luis took a deep breath to calm his nerves.

Fuck. A ‘scared’ chuckle passed her lips, Annie furrowing her eyebrows in worry. “W—what are you talking a’out? Not… not human? What else could I be?” This stupid boy knew. How could he see through her? He took a deep smell… Perhaps he was a monster. But what kind of monster? Something to do with dogs and animals and things that can smell. The only thing to come to mind was a werewolf- and it very well could be! Let’s test this theory. Luis was irritable. He’d break soon.
“W-well, Luis, it’s nice to meet you, but I’m? Not sure what you mean! Um…” She put a finger to her chin, tapping it once or twice, looking deep in thought. “You me~an… You think I might be a witch or… what are those things those kids around here talk about? A keychain? Kickshin? Somethin’ like that.” Annie raised her hands defensively. “Trust me, I ain’t no keyshin or witch or whatever.”

Luis eyes flashed black and he took off his shades. Staring the woman in the eyes with his dark voids. "Listen here witch I do not enjoy being played." He growled quietly making sure to keep this between the two. It was quite clear luis was losing his patience. I side his mouth his teeth were beginning to change his canine teeth were lengthening and the others growing sharper. It was not noticeable though, and wouldn't be until he opened his mouth again.

“I get t-the feeling you’re not j-joking, but sir, I’m n-not a witch! Honest. The façade named Annie looked pretty fearful at this moment. She raised slightly from her chair, and looked frantically behind her towards the café owner. Anubis was glad there was at least someone there, in case it got too hectic, but the owner was a bit of an obstacle if she chose to do any magic. She figured it’s better for safety at this moment. Raising to her feet, a bit timid, Annie stared down at Luis, fear flourishing in her eyes. She backed away slowly. “I… I have… somewhere to be right now, ha, v-very sorry…”

He rolled his eyes, which was probably hard to see because his eyes were black. He stood and motioned with his arm towards the door. "Than go." He growled a little louder this time. The owner of the shop heard his growl and turned to luis, "sir I'm going to have to ask you to leave, now." The owner said sternly. Luis turned his head and snarled his wolf teath clear as day. The owner began to freak out and slowly reached under the counter, leaving his hand there for a moment. Luis began to walk towards him, Luis was starting to lose himself again. The owner pulled a gun, a revolver from the counter and aimed it at Luis. "S-stay back! I'm warning you I will shoot!" He warned. Luis took no notice and took another step forward. "Don't make me do this..." the man pleaded and Luis just continued walking his finger nails being replaced by claws. There was a loud bang followed by a deafening Crack that shot through the room. The bullet hit Luis in the chest and the wolf fell to the ground clutching his left.

Annie, outwardly, looked extremely frightened, and watched in horror as the shop owner shot Luis. She stood in shock, along with Ole Joe himself. The café itself was pretty empty, leaving only three witnesses with one of them down. Anubis was… mildly pleased at this outcome. As her appearance remained scared, shocked, stupefied, her mind thought deeply to itself about the boy. He was a werewolf. This wouldn’t kill him- after all, most werewolves are immortal. Good.
Her plot was going to work out after all.
Snapping out of her daze, Annie called to the café owner to go out and get some help. They both knew that the man would hate to have blood on his hands- he was a good, honest man. No life should be taken by innocent fingers. Running to the ‘injured’ Luis, Anubis crouched down and put her slender hands over his wound, pressing down to stop the blood. “I-it’ll be okay, it’ll be okay…!” She continued her act until the man ran from the café and out into the streets, asking everyone for police, medics, anything. They had time. Low under her breath, Anubis whispered, her voice grave and metalic. “You are a fool.”
